If you want to start interesting and engaging conversations with your children whilst educating them about sensitive matters but don’t know how to start the “birds & bees” and puberty related conversations, this workshop is for you. I can help you develop the skills to be able to have great conversations with your children about private matters in a way that is fun, interesting, informative, and not at all awkward.

Talking about sexual health, romantic relationships, menstruation and other reproductive aspects of the human body, puberty, love, sex, and other sensitive matters is not easy for most people. Unfortunately, many of today’s parents did not receive a solid sexual education because of social norms and pressures. Due to the discomfort felt around the topic, sexuality is often brushed passed in the hope that as children become adults they will magically gain knowledge about their sexuality.

Parents often believe that their children will turn to them when they have questions about sexuality and therefore they often wait for their children to start the conversations around their changing body for example, or relationships, condom use, or other sexual behaviour. However, what we know from research is that this reactive approach is rather counterproductive.

When parents do not create a positive and non-judgmental environment in which young children feel comfortable talking about genitals and their bodies, they won’t come to you later when they need advice about sex itself. This workshop is all about how you can become a proactive sexual health educator for your children at any developmental stage, even if your child is a teenager but you never talked about sexual matters, it’s never too late to start.

Sexual matters are private but not so private that we shouldn’t talk about it!
