This class is open to all those looking to improve their strength and overall fitness. You can use your body weight, dumbbells, resistance bands and other free weights in this fast paced strength training circuits class. You will use resistance to build strength and tone muscle while burn calories. There will also be an element of cardio (known as HIIT) for the heart and lungs. Don’t let any of this put you off, we are all on your own journey; different goals, alternative stage of life, rehab from injury and metal state. You can work as hard as you want or, even better, as hard as you can! “Exercise not only changes your body, it changes your mind, your attitude and your mind set” If you needed any more excuses to sweat and build muscle in a lovely park in the sun (hopefully!) , here are a few benefits highlighted by the NHS why strength training is amazing…. • “Strength exercise will help you increase muscle strength, maintain bone density, improve balance, reduce the risk of falling and reduce joint pain” • “Strength exercise is any activity that makes your muscles work harder then usual. This increases your muscle strength, size, power and endurance.” • “You should try to do 2 sessions or more of muscle strengthening exercises per week.” Strength training and being stronger will filter into all areas of life, both physically and mentally; from picking up your kids, mowing the lawn, running up the stairs, sleeping better, improved self esteem and enhanced mood.
